Food for thought

in Food for thought, Inspiration -

clouds-1

What I mostly enjoy about this space (apart from all the cooking, testing and tasting) is the relationships which have occurred through it and the emergence of the blog as a platform for sharing food, thoughts and ideas with others. What I deliberately go look for online or elsewhere aside, there’s also so many things that fuel my inspiration or pique my interest- be it recipes or techniques, random facts or things happening in London and elsewhere. There never seems to be a shortage of bits and bobs that grab my attention; and more often than not, I find myself really wanting to share them here.

So here it is: the Tasty Other’s new segment, things that move me one way or the other, things that make me think, not all recipes but, hopefully, all food for thought.

I’ve just spend a much needed week with my family back home and I miss them already… Maybe a beautiful illustrated portrait of them would help keep the homesick blues at bay.

5-ingredient dark chocolate whiskey truffles: I so want to try this recipe, but also kinda don’t- dangerous territory ahead.

Now you see them, now you don’t: what we used to have at home but don’t anymore. I need to show this to my parents, who still use an answering machine and an alarm clock, regularly update their phone book and still don’t own a TV.

London’s Future Food Festival is just a couple days away and I literally cannot wait. It’s all happening!

Around this time of year, I become moderately obsessed with summer holidays. They sometimes seem right around the corner or, on gloomy days like this, far far away. Still, there’s no harm in planning (and shopping for) your holiday essentials.

Ever since Mike brought it for me from LA, the Gjelina cookbook has been my main culinary inspiration (I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve made their beet & mint yogurt farro).

I’m just done watching The Good Wife and, honestly, I’m a little confused. What was is all really about?

Finally, strawberry limeade anyone? Trust me, just one jug won’t be enough.
